This is a shallow, artificial pond of 49 acres, also known as Clarksburg Reservoir, is located in the Clarksburg State Forest, just off Route 8. Average depth is five feet and maximum depth is eight feet. The bottom is composed of silt and clay. Transparency is only fair, extending to five feet. Aquatic vegetation is abundant over the entire pond. The Department of Environmental Management controls this pond; hence there is public access all the way around it. There is no formal boat-launching ramp, but it is possible to launch canoes and car top boats. Swimmers use portions of this pond quite heavily during the summer. Fish Populations: chain pickerel, yellow perch, pumpkinseed, brown bullhead, golden shiner and white sucker.

Due to the excellent public access, this pond attracts plenty of anglers throughout the summer. The fishermen frequenting the pond at this time are "generalists," happy to take whatever they can catch. The extensive, dense weed beds have little impact on them, and as no bass are present, there is little incentive to use specialized lures or equipment. Ice fishermen like to hit this pond early in the season before the snow and ice build up. It will generally provide some good pickerel and perch action at that time, but don’t expect any trophies.
