vermontguides reviewed the location West River.
fishing is so so below the dam, water releases bring tons of kayaks out, the better fishing is where the west flows in the CT and above the townshend dam/ there are no salmon stockings anymore so we will see what the water level will be once they dont have to maintain a minimum depth for the salmon in the pool

vermontguides reviewed the location Walloomsac River.
so so stocked fishing, some natives and holdovers, access is terrible, most shorelines are posted making everyone crowd into a few locations. when water is high it is floatable down to the box plant in NY, deeper sections have some better brook trout and rainbows

vermontguides reviewed the location Somerset Reservoir.
over rated as a fishery it has a poor ramp and is being over run with tree huggers trying to shut the lake off from motorboats. its worth fishing if only for the quiet shorelines and to piss off the kayers who contribute nothing but want so much

vermontguides reviewed the location Roaring Branch Walloomsac Brook.
the hurricane didnt ruin it but the engineers did. By digging in the river with heavy machinery all spawning time then effectively destroyed this river from woodford to the NY line.
few stocked fish this year but river will never recover as long as they have loose dirt and mud filled in the river bottoms. silt will destroy the eggs and beds and kill the fish soon after being stocked. everywhere mother nature was left to do her work the river is fishable and there are some good fish but it will be many years before this is back to where it was
